Buying & Selling

If you have sold anything within the past 5 years, chances are you have sold something online. There is no better way to quickly reach a vast audience and meet the prospective buyer. Selling a car is no different. Different web sites offer a variety of services. Depending on how much work and supervision you wish to put into the process, your choice of service will vary.

Craigslist
Possibly the most do-it-yourself online sales site is craigslist. Your ad can include pictures, specific conditions of the sale and direct contact information. The up side of selling on Craigslist is that it is completely free. A downside is you may have to deal with a bunch of penny pinchers and tire kickers and sorting them out is a time consuming task.

Ebay
If you are confident an online auction will bring you the highest price then ebay is an option. Placing your ad on the site allows you to also customize the content of the ad. Users can contact you through the website which allows you to filter out those who aren't necessarily serious about buying. Ebay offers the typical auction feature as well as the option to list a fixed price. Buyers can choose to 'but it now' and complete the transaction. The only things to consider are transporting the car and transfer of payment and any legal documentation that may need to be filled out.
