Buying & Selling
Satisfaction Guaranteed with GM

General Motors has embarked on an ambitious new marketing campaign in hopes of selling more cars to consumers. The 60 day money-back guarantee will be applied to all GM vehicles purchased between September 14 and November 30 of 2009. After a customer buys the car, they have 60 days in which to return to the car for a full refund of the car's purchase price. One caveat to the deal is the owner must retain the car for at least 30 days before returning it to the dealer. The idea being they will have a sufficient amount of time to evaluate the automobile. In order to qualify, the car must be a 2009 or 2010 Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, or Cadillac. This excludes medium duty trucks. There is a 4,000 mileage limit from the delivery date of the truck. This means no cross country journeys before returning the car. Also, any rebates or tax paid for the car at the time of purchase will not be refunded.
If you plan to take advantage of this program be sure you fully understand the rules of the deal. For example, if the car is in an accident during the 60 day period then it no longer is eligible for a refund. Also, if the automobile sustains over $200 in damage (a tree branch falls on it) then it also is disqualified.
GM feesl the program is a good faith effort to show auto consumers that they are willing to stand behind their product – a charge that had been levied against the American auto manufacturer in recent years.
Seeing the reputation of GM autos fall second to some of the foreign competition has raised questions about the quality of their cars. This program is a safe way for consumers to give the company another shot without incurring any risk. In some ways it is an extended test drive weaved into your daily routine.
