Best New Car Warranties

The slow sales of new cars made by american manufacturers has increased their willingness to lower prices and offer new deals such as lower financing or better car warranties. Some of the best new car warranties being offered nowadays are those offered by american manufacturers.
GMC is offering a 5-year, 100,000 mile transferable powertrain warranty. Most foreign companies offer warranties in the neighborhood of 3-4 years and with less mileage. The GMC warranty only covers the drivetrain which includes, transmission, transfer case, transaxle and drive systems. Additionally, roadside assistance and courtesy transportation is included in this warranty. What is not covered in this warranty are items that are damaged due to poor maintenance or accidents. Apart from the powertrain warranty, GMC includes their standard 3-year, 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty covering problems in workmanship and a 6-year, 100,000 mile corrosion protection plan.
Ford Motor Company also offers a 5-year warranty but only for 60,000 miles. This warranty also excludes medium duty trucks and hybrid vehicles. Their standard warranty matches GMC's at 3-year/36,0000 miles. Their corrosion warranty matches the 6-year limit offered by GMC but mileage is unlimited. Convenient roadside assistance is also offered.
Lastly, we will look at the warranty Toyota offers to compete with the american companies. Like Ford, Toyota offers a 5-year, 60,000 mile powertrain warranty. Toyota's basic warranty matches both Ford and GMC with a 3-year, 36,000 mile warranty. Toyota's extensive accessory packages can also be included in the 3/36,000 warranty if purchased at the time of the car purchase. For accessories purchased after, Toyota offers a 1-year, 12,000 mile warranty.
So, which is the best new car warranty out there. For now, it looks like GMC pulls ahead of the others offering more mileage on its powertrain warranty.
